George works as a consultant at the World Bank's Kenya Office in the Macro Fiscal Management Trade and Investment Global Practice. His primary research interests are centered on impact evaluation, behavioral science, experimental economics, big data analytics, as well as the economics of international trade.

He holds a Doctorate in Economics from the University of Cape Town. In his doctoral work, George sought to investigate the distortions introduced by positive emotions on rational decision making, particularly towards altruism. He also holds a BA and MSc in Economics from Kenyatta University, Nairobi. He extensively applies complex behavioral science tools in his work as well as experiments in the field and the lab.

At the World Bank, George's technical assistance involves assessing the impact of export incentives to local firms on trade outcomes, tracking the impact of global value chains through Multi-National Companies as well as help in negotiations for regional trade blocs. Previously, he supported the Social Protection and Jobs Global Practice in South Africa focusing on understanding the structural barriers faced by vulnerable groups in accessing the labour market.

George is a research affiliate of the Busara Center for Behavioral Economics, Kenya, and a research consultant for the Mchanga Initiative - an online fund-raising organization also based in Kenya. He is also a researcher with the International Growth Center (IGC - London) and the Center for the Study of African Economies (CSAE) at the Oxford University.
