Martin Wafula Nandelenga is an economist with over 15 years of experience in academia and public policy research. Currently, he is a Senior Policy Analyst at the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA), Nairobi, Kenya. Previously he worked as a lecturer in the Department of Economics at Egerton University, Kenya.

Martins' research interests include public finance, particularly on macroeconomic analysis of fiscal and monetary policy, financial markets with focus on systemic spillovers, and portfolio diversification. He has also worked on fiscal sustainability evaluating debt dynamics in developing countries. Several of his research articles have appeared in international peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Economic Asymmetries. He has also authored several research works that have been published as working papers by the Economic Research Southern Africa (ERSA) and the Africa Development Bank.

Martin has consulted with several international organisations such as the World Bank, the African Development Bank, and United Nations Development Programme. Through his consultancy work, Martin has contributed enormously to the enrichment of public policy in Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia and the wider East Africa region.

Martin holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He also holds a Master of Economics degree from Kenyatta University and a bachelor's degree from Egerton University, Kenya.
