Dr. Mohammad Arif Kamal is an architect, having around 18 years of Teaching, Research, and Professional experience in the field of Architecture, Building Construction Technology and Interior Design. He studied architecture at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, where he received his Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.) degree with honors. He was awarded a Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Assistantship for pursuing both a Master of Architecture (M. Arch.) and a Ph.D. degree in Architecture from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, India. He has designed and implemented many Architecture and Interior design projects besides his teaching duties on Design Theory, Building Construction Technology, Sustainable Architecture, Climatic Design of Buildings, Interior Design as well as Architectural Design Studios

His research interest is in the broad areas of Corporate Finance, Investment, Financial Markets, Applied Finance, Digital Finance (digital currencies and fintech) ,and Energy Finance. He has published his research in high-impact international journals such as, Journal of Economic Behaviour and Organization, Energy Economics, International Review of Financial Analysis, International Review of Economics and Finance, Finance Research Letters, Global Finance Journal, Journal of Commodity Markets, International Review of Finance, Applied Economics, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Journal of Cleaner Production etc. His research has been presented at various finance conferences including the Paris Financial Management Conference, Cryptocurrency Research Conference and several universities Dr. Kamal is presently working as an Associate Professor at Aligarh Muslim University, India. He has also worked as an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Architecture at KFUPM, Saudi Arabia for 3 years. He was awarded Junior Faculty Development Grant at KFUPM, Saudi Arabia in 2010. He has been associated with an International Architectural Project 'The Mataaf Design Intervention in Haram Mosque', Mecca, Saudi Arabia. His area of research includes Environmental Design, Climate Responsive Architecture, Sustainable Architecture, Building Technology, Building Materials, etc. He has published many Research papers in various International Journals and Conferences as well as many articles in Building Construction Magazines. He has published 3 books and 10 book chapters. He is the Editor-in-Chief of 5 International journals related to Architecture and Building Construction Technology. He has edited 4 Special Topic Volume Related to Sustainable Building Materials (Scopus Indexed), published by Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. He is a member of the editorial board team/ associate editor of many International journals and conferences and also a member of many national and International associations / professional bodies. He is the Design Editor of the Journal of Construction and Built Environment.
