Samiratu Atibun Isa is an engineer and academic with research interest in acid mine drainage and Bioenvironmental assessment, and remediation of media, particularly water and soil.

She obtained a BSc degree in Minerals Engineering from the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa-Ghana in 2017, and a Master's degree in Environmental Science and Engineering, from the Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Pohang- South Korea in 2021.

She has garnered experience working as a researcher on mineral ore processing projects with UMaT and nuclear environmental remediation projects with the Nuclear Environmental Technology Institute in POSTECH. Inspired by environmental degradation by illegal mining, She is currently broadening her research to realistic and affordable solutions to help shed light on eradicating the menace through publications and water purification projects.

Samiratu has developed strong research expertise in journal editing, handling peer reviewed communications and she is eager to introduce fresh perspectives and new techniques in research that allow organizations to evolve. In keeping with the AREF Consult ethos, her goal is to expand her expertise in providing the best solutions to contemporary problems using unconventional and imaginative methods. She is a collaborative team player who is continuously searching for opportunities to impart valuable insights and grow. With these qualities, she facilitates positive change and impacting outcomes, armed with proficient document editing, proofreading, review, and report writing skills.

Her research interests include bioremediation, biowaste management, water purification, biochar production and utilization, pollution assessment and control, acid-mine drainage.
